TBPA is participating in the NFPA’s Member-Get-A-Member Challenge.  Won’t you spread the word about our great association and help us increase our membership numbers?  The member who refers the most new members now through July 1st (and such new member received board approval for membership by the July Board Meeting) will receive FREE attendance at the 2013 TBPA Seminar.   Please click here to go to the Membership webpage for downloading the TBPA Membership Application. Don't forget to have the new member put your name on the "How did you hear about TBPA?" line on the application so you receive credit for recruiting the new member! TBPA has been working diligently to provide more Membership Benefits. We are excited to announce that not only does your TBPA Membership include automatic membership with the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), but it now includes automatic membership with the Florida Alliance of Paralegal Associations (FAPA). In addition, we have submitted our application to become an affiliate of the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) by the end of this year!

Please mark your calendars that TBPA's monthly luncheons are now held on the second Thursday of the month.

Please join us for our June Luncheon held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm at The Tampa Club, 42th Floor, 101 E. Kennedy Blvd., in downtown Tampa.  Our speaker will be LaShawn Stranchan, Esq., whose presentation will be on Florida's  Guardian Ad Litem Program, including Florida Statutes governing such program

Be sure to RSVP your attendance to our Luncheon Chair by Thursday, June 6, 2013 by sending an email confirming your attendance, and then mailing your luncheon check as stated on the Reservation Form.

TBPA recently participated in the Pro Bono event Wills For Heros helping our community first responders to have Wills and medical directives in place. To see future dates for Wills For Heros events or other Pro Bono Projects, please see the Pro Bono & Community Service webpage.

The 2013 TBPA Community Service projects will mainly focus on the PACE Center for Girls, Inc., plus the special programs of Toys For Tots and the Military Legalman (USO at Tampa International Airport). alt   TBPA 2013 Education Scholarship 

TBPA is pleased to announce that it is accepting paralegal student applications for the 2013 Education Scholarship now through October 31, 2013. The scholarship award is $500, plus a 1 year TBPA Student Membership for the year 2014.  Completed applications with all supporting documents must be postmarked by October 31, 2013 to be eligible. Please see the Scholarship Application for further details. 


TBPA Paralegal Student Mentors 

TBPA Mentor Committee is working with the Hillsborough Community College to pair paralegal students with working paralegals for an interview by the students. If you want to participate as a Mentor in this program or if you'd like to be assigned to a Mentor, please contact the Mentor Committee Chair, Nita Serrano. Also, you can download the application and provide it to the TBPA Mentor Committee.
