SPEAKER: Kevin Fitzsimmons and John Cain with Mandelbaum, Fitzsimmons Hewitt & Cain

TOPIC:  “Insurance and Bad Faith Law – the Current State of the Law in Florida”

SUMMARY: Our presentation will give a brief overview of the legal requirements insurance adjusters must follow in Florida.  We will focus upon three areas – licensing of adjusters; proper adjusting of claims; and the consequences of violating these rules.  This presentation should give attendees a better understanding of the Florida insurance claims process, thus assisting them in their dealings with Florida claims’ professionals.

TBPA is no longer accepting reservations via email or mail. 

TBPA reserves the right to change/substitute luncheon speakers, topics or entrées as necessary due to unexpected circumstances. Cancellations for paid-in-full reservations prior to the RSVP Deadline will be refunded, subject to a $2.00 administrative fee.  After the RSVP Deadline, no refunds will be provided and payment in full will be due regardless of attendance. Cancellation correspondence may be sent to luncheon@tbpa.org.

Parking: Please note that The Tampa Club validates parking in the Bank of America parking garage during lunchtime hours for the discounted $2.00 rate.  Please bring your parking ticket with you and have The Tampa Club Receptionist validate it for you.

SPEAKER'S BIO:  Mr. Cain is a former State of Florida Prosecutor.  As a prosecutor he handled thousands of criminal cases and conducted numerous jury trials.  He worked closely with all local law enforcement agencies and learned the methods of the State Attorney’s Office.  In addition to his intense criminal exposure, Mr. Cain is also a civil trial attorney whose experience and training includes the representation of individuals, and businesses through all aspects of litigation. Also, Mr. Cain is a former Marine and fluent in Spanish. 

Practice Areas: Criminal law, Auto liability, Premises liability, Commercial Litigation; Insurance and Surety Defense; Civil Trial.
