SUMMARY:  Human trafficking is a well-hidden human rights violation.  This presentation will discuss human trafficking to include vulnerable populations, trafficking indicators, available resources and legislative actions.

SPEAKERS' BIO:  

Charrita Ernewein, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, SANE-A is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in acute care and pediatrics in the Hillsborough County School District. Dr. Ernewein also works for the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.  Dr. Ernewein completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1988, her Master of Science at South University in 2013 and her Doctoral Nurse Practitioner in 2016 at South University in Tampa, Florida.  Dr. Ernewein is currently enrolled full time at University of Central Florida in the PhD program.  Dr. Ernewein holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.


Dr. Ernewein is a strong advocate within the community working closely with professional organizations and community resources regarding the topics of human trafficking and vulnerable populations.  As a part of the Tampa Speakers Bureau, Dr. Ernewein worked closely with the department of homeland security to develop and implement a training for healthcare providers within the community.  Dr. Ernewein remains actively engaged in several community organizations such as the FREE Network and University of Central Florida Human Trafficking Awareness Group. 


Dr. Ernewein is the President of the Tampa Bay Advanced Practice Nurse Council Group, a member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioner, a member of the American Nurses Association, and a member of the National Association of School Nurses.

At this time, since the University Club is not able to accommodate our in-person Monthly Membership Luncheons due to the COVID-19 constraints for our health and safety, we are offering to both TBPA Members and Guests the opportunity for 1 CLE Unit Credit via Recorded Video Presentation. Once the University Club is open to full capacity, we will continue to offer a Video Only RSVP Registration option at a special rate to both Members and Guests, however, limiting the number to 2 registrations in any given year for Guests since this will be a new TBPA Membership Benefit. We encourage you to join TBPA and enjoy the many benefits membership offers. Please keep healthy and we hope to see you soon!

TBPA is no longer accepting reservations via email or mail. 

TBPA reserves the right to change/substitute speakers, presentations, or topics as necessary due to unexpected circumstances. Cancellations for paid-in-full registrations prior to the RSVP Deadline will be refunded.  After the RSVP Deadline, no refunds will be provided and payment in full will be due since the process of providing secured video link with cle certificate will have commenced.
