TOPIC: "Managing Wage Garnishments - The Employer's Role"
SUMMARY: With the complexity of garnishments, federal, state, and local laws and the rules of civil procedures throughout the United States, the employer is faced with many challenges especially those who operate as a multi-state employer. A garnishment handled improperly, can be a costly liability to the employer. We will touch on the different types of garnishments, compliance, instructions for the garnishee, and ensuring the proper deduction(s) are made from the employee’s paycheck.

TBPA reserves the right to change/substitute luncheon speakers, topics or entrées as necessary due to unexpected circumstances. Cancellations for paid-in-full reservations prior to the RSVP Deadline will be refunded, subject to a $2.00 administrative fee. After the RSVP Deadline, no refunds will be provided and payment in full will be due regardless of attendance. Cancellation correspondence may be sent to luncheon@tbpa.org.
Parking: Please note that The Tampa Club validates parking in the Bank of America parking garage during lunchtime hours for the discounted $3.00 rate. Please bring your parking ticket with you and have The Tampa Club Receptionist validate it for you.

Over 40 years’ experience in payroll processing and currently employed as the Payroll Deductions Manager at Coca-Cola Business Services for 16 years. A member of the American Payroll Association’s Government Relations Task Force for Child Support and other Garnishments. Member of the Texas Office of Attorney General’s Employer Task Force. A recipient of the American Payroll Association’s Meritorious Service Award in 2017 and is an inductee into their Hall of Fame. A member of the American Legion and the Department of FL American Legion Rider Adjutant.
