SPEAKER:  Natalie Paskiewicz 

TOPIC:  What to do when your case gets ordered to Mediation or Arbitration.

SUMMARY: Recently, more cases are being ordered to arbitration by Judges in Hillsborough and surrounding counties. This presentation will include a discussion on what arbitration is, why more Judges are ordering it, what to do when your case is sent to arbitration, and how to effectively prepare for it.

NOTE: The appropriate attire at The University Club is business casual to semi-formal. The Club asks that no t-shirts, tennis shoes, flip-flops, shorts, or blue jeans be worn. If any of these items are worn, you may be turned away by The University Club and no refunds will be offered or given.  Jackets are encouraged, but not officially required.  It is quite common to see formal wear in  the restaurant since they are fortunate to be visited often for special occasions.  Please note that modifications to dress code will be made for any person with a medical condition.

TBPA reserves the right to change/substitute luncheon speakers, topics or entrées as necessary due to unexpected circumstances. Cancellations for paid-in-full reservations prior to the RSVP Deadline will be refunded.  After the RSVP Deadline, no refunds will be provided and payment in full will be due regardless of attendance.

PARKING: Please note that parking in the Fort Brooke parking garage (corner of Whiting & Franklin) is at the rate of $1.60 per hour.  The University Club does not validate parking.  On the third floor of the parking garage, take the walkway to One Tampa City Center.

SPEAKERS' BIO:  


Natalie is the owner of Paz Mediation. Her practice is based in Tampa Bay and focuses solely on dispute resolution. She is a certified circuit civil and family law mediator, as well as a Florida qualified arbitrator. Prior to opening her practice in 2016, she worked at two well-known statewide insurance defense law firms. Her mediation experience includes cases dealing with property damage, auto negligence, breach of contract, labor and employment, divorce, construction defects, and premises liability.


In addition to her mediation practice, Ms. Paskiewicz serves as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). She currently acts as an Executive Council member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of The Florida Bar.


Natalie obtained her law degree from Stetson law school. While attending law school, she interned in-house with Minor League Baseball, headquartered in St. Petersburg, FL, worked for well-known TV personality, Judge Judy, and clerked for a Sixth Judicial Circuit Judge. She lives in St. Pete with her husband Nick, 3 year old daughter Madelyn and dog Bo.
